Gramodyog Vikas Kendra

Earlier this scheme was known as Gramodyog Sankul Yojana. Another scheme, the Common Work shed Scheme also existed. Both the schemes had some lacunae that created difficulties in their implementation. After careful consideration, both the schemes have been amalgamated from February 2000. Cluster Development Scheme

The cluster development scheme has been implemented since 2003-04 for the development of a group of artisans from different sectors in different parts of the state. The revised cluster development scheme is currently being implemented as per the resolution number ICO/102010/868729/Kh, Dated:20/08/2020 of the Industry and Mines Department of the State Government. The District Industry Center of the concerned district is functioning as the implementing agency of this scheme. A group of 25 to 100 artisans of handicraft, handloom or cottage industry engaged in production activities of the same type or different types of crafts in the same village or geographically close villages should be considered as clusters. Industrial co-operative society registered under co-operative law, public trust registered under trust act / N.G.O. or various boards / corporations / institutions of the state or central government which are active for the development of artisans can avail the benefits of this scheme, which will act as the nodal agency of the cluster. These nodal agencies will have to submit a proposal to the General Manager of the concerned District Industry Center.

Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

The Scheme

Government of India has approved the introduction of a new credit linked subsidy programme called Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) by merging the two schemes that were in operation till 31.03.2008 namely Prime Minister’s Rojgar Yojana (PMRY) and Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) for generation of employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban areas. PMEGP will be a central sector scheme to be administered by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME). The Scheme will be implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory organization under the administrative control of the Ministry of MSME as the single nodal agency at the National level. At the State level, the Scheme will be implemented through State KVIC Directorates, State Khadi and Village Industries Boards (KVIBs) and District Industries Centres (DICs) and banks.
