Branches & Functions

• D Branch

  The main mission of this branch is to handling service matters of the officers and employees working in the secretariat cadre under Industries & Mines Department and matters pertains to purchasing, maintaining and repairing of the machinery and vehicles of the department.

• D1 Branch

  The branch specifically handles various grievance applications, as well as primary and departmental inquiries related to the officers of the Office of the Commissioner of Geology and Mining and the Office of the Commissioner of Industries. It also deals with vigilance references pertaining to the officers of the aforementioned offices.

• D3 Branch

  The branch works for matters pertaining Establishment of Commissionerate of Geology and mining, commissionerate of industries and MSME commissionerate Gandhinagar

• Ch Branch

  Branch works for Gujarat Textile Policy, Matter relating to Micro, Small and Medium enterprise, Matter related to Gujarat State Procurement Policy Matter relating to Salt Industries.

• G Branch

  G-Branch's main objectives is to look after the promotion of Medium & large Industries. For this purpose, the work is held by Industries Commissioner & Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation. Especially for balanced, planned, decentralized development and rapid Industrial growth, in 1962 the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation was established. After the Establishment of GIDC, Gujarat achieved a rapid industrial growth.

• I Branch

  I-Branch prepares and gets published industrial policy for the State. The promotional efforts towards establishing Industries are also being taken care of by this branch. I branch has also to accelerate industrial development of the backward areas of the state.
  Globalization and Economic liberalization policies of the Government have led to increased competition in the industries. Government have also to led the industries for Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) and Technology Upgradation for enhancement of competitive advantage of the industries I branch prepares and gets. approved the industrial policy for the State. The promotional efforts towards establishment of major Industries is also being taken care by this department. I branch has also to see the need to accelerate development of the backward area of the state and to decide which are backward areas with reference to industrial growth and to make provision for large scale employment opportunities in the industries having state support in any form.

• I1 Branch

  The branch is involved in formulating policies with respect to SIR and SEZ I-1 branch envisages to promote robust, inclusive and sustainable growth and development for SIR (Special Investment Region) and SEZ (Special Economic Zone) in Gujarat.

• P Branch

  This branch is Responsible for all the activities related with various Corporations under the Industries and Mines Department, and revival of the Sick Industries.

• Chh Branch

  Mining is multifaceted industry involving exploration, extraction, processing and transportation of minerals and metals. The work of this branch is related to mines and minerals for 17 districts of Gujarat State.
  Ahmedabad, Kutch, Gandhinagar, Porbandar, Panchamahal, Dahod, Bhavanagar, Mehasana, Patan, Rajkot, Morbi, Aravalli, Surendranagar, Botad, Sabarakantha, Mahisagar.

• Chh1 Branch

  Mining is multifaceted industry involving exploration, extraction, processing and transportation of minerals and metals. The work of this branch is related to mines and minerals for 17 districts of Gujarat State.
  The main subjects of Chh1 Branch is as under for Amreli, Anand, Junagadh, Bharuch, Vadodara, Navsari, Tapi, Chhotaudepur, Kheda, Jamnagar, Banaskantha, Narmada, Valsad, Surat, Girsomnath, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Dang districts.
