Extensive Road Network

Gujarat has an extensive road network, ensuring strong connectivity across its 17,843 villages. The State’s comprehensive road system covers a total length of 81,565 km including 5,817 kms of National Highway, 16,292 kms of State Highway, 20,860 kms of Major District Road, 10,223 kms of Other District Road and 28,373 kms of Village road. World Class Airports

Gujarat has developed robust air connectivity, with multiple domestic and international airports facilitating travel across the country and beyond. The State has 19 airports including 4 international airports such as Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot. Greenfield airports are also being built in industrial areas like Ankleshwar and religious tourism destinations like Dwarka, Ambaji and Palitana.

Port Infrastructure

Featuring India’s longest coastline (1,600 Kms) & supported by robust port infrastructure, Gujarat is a key gateway for international trade and investment. Gujarat, with 49 ports (1 major port and 48 non-major ports), contributes to around 31% in India’s merchandise exports and handles 40% of India’s cargo.

Bullet Train

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Bullet Train project aims to connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad over a distance of 508 kilometers, with 156 kilometers in Maharashtra and 352 kilometers in Gujarat, encompassing 12 stations. The project is being executed at an estimated cost of INR 1.1 lakh crore (US$15 billion) and is the only sanctioned high-speed rail project in India, receiving technical and financial support from Japan. The corridor features 92% high-speed elevated tracks on viaducts (460 km) and bridges (9.22 km), along with tunnels (25.87 km) and embankments (12.9 km). Using Japan’s Shinkansen technology, the trains will operate at a speed of 320 km/h with 12 stations, offering 35 trains per day in each direction, with a frequency of 20 minutes during peak hours and 30 minutes during non-peak hours. The Operational Control Centre for the corridor will be based in Sabarmati.

DMIC Corridor

The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is a high-impact industrial zone extending 150 km on either side of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC). The vision for DMIC is to create a robust economic base with a globally competitive environment and modern infrastructure, stimulating local commerce, enhancing foreign investments, and promoting sustainable growth. Conceived as a Model Industrial Corridor of international standards, DMIC aims to expand the manufacturing and services sector, establishing the region as a "Global Manufacturing and Trading Hub". DMIC covers 24 industrial nodes, 6 of which are situated in Gujarat. Among these, two regions—Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) and Gujarat Petroleum, Chemical & Petrochemical Special Investment Region (GPCPSIR)—are officially designated under the Gujarat Special Investment Region Act-2009, with sanctioned development plans.

Gujarat International Financial Tec (GIFT) City

GIFT City is India’s 1st operational Smart City and International Financial Service Centre (IFSC), with world class infrastructure for offshore and international transactions in banking, insurance, and capital markets. It is a vertical city with integrated development on 886 acres of land with 62 Mn sq. ft. (5.5 million sq. mts.) of Built-Up area. Within its bounds lies a Domestic Tariff Area alongside a Multi Services Special Economic Zone (SEZ), fostering a dynamic ecosystem for growth and investment. GIFT city has been recognized as a model for greenfield development of smart cities by Government of India’s “Smart Cities – Mission Statement & Guidelines” of June 2015. It has also been ranked as 1st amongst top 15 Global Financial Centre and 1st in reputational advantage in the Global Financial Centres Index 28.

Diamond Research & Mercantile (DREAM) City
